Daily Log: June 30

Well, guess we have to close the book on June. Been a strange month, definitely one of radical changes. Left me feeling good at times, unsettled at others.

Today went to the gym in the morning, spent afternoon at home reading. After dinner tonight, picked Jordana up at the subway.

So long June.

About Me

Who am I? Sounds like a line in a play…Les Miz perhaps? Well I’m not Jean Val Jean.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Bathurst Manor to be exact. After university I decided to attend Sheridan College and obtained my journalism diploma. From there it was out to Saskatchewan, where I worked at the Borderland Reporter in a 1,000 person town called Coronach. That lasted 9 months. From there I found a new home and job in The Battlefords as a reporter at the Battleford Telegraph. That lasted a year.

I came back to Toronto and a few months later started freelancing at The Canadian Jewish News in April 1984. Shortly after I started helping out in the office and when a job opening presented itself, I was asked if I was interested. Of course the answer was yes!

In 1989, I left my reporting duties behind, when I became the news editor. Years after that I added internet editor to my title.

In June 2014, I was let go from The CJN as the company restructured.

What’s this blog about? Perhaps everything or nothing. Time will tell. Basically its a place to explore my creative juices/
